Christmas windows
A painted window is the cheapest square metre of advertising a shop has, and at Christmas it is the one people stop to photograph. I letter and paint windows by hand, on site, for shops, cafes, pubs, salons and garden centres across the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire borders.
What I paint

How a window is booked
Send me photographs of the glass with something in shot for scale, the wording you have in mind and the date it needs to be ready. I draw a layout to scale so you can see exactly how the lettering and illustration will sit on the window, and nothing is painted until you have said yes.
How long it takes depends on the size of the glass and the amount of detail, and I will tell you before we start how many hours I need. Painting happens on site and I work around your opening hours, before you open or after you close where that suits you better. Everything is cleared and left clean at the end.
When to book
December dates fill from early autumn. If you want a window ready for the weekend the Christmas lights go on, September is comfortable and October is often still possible. Ask as early as you can and I will tell you honestly what is left.
Beyond Christmas
The same brushes do Easter, summer sales, a new opening or a change of menu, and a window repainted a few times a year is one of the cheapest pieces of signage a business can own. If you want something permanent instead, that is signwriting and hand painted murals.
On site work is centred on Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire, and I travel further for larger commissions.

How much does a painted Christmas window cost?
Windows are quoted per project, by the size of the glass, the amount of detail and the number of windows in the scheme. Send me photographs and the wording and I will give you a real figure rather than a range.
When should I book?
December dates fill from early autumn. September is comfortable, October is often still possible, and after that it depends entirely on what is left. It costs nothing to ask.
Does it come off afterwards?
That is agreed before I start. Tell me whether the glass has to be clear again in January and I will choose the paint to suit, and explain exactly how it comes off before anything is painted.
Can you work outside our opening hours?
Yes. Early mornings, evenings and quiet weekdays all work, and it is usually the least disruptive way to do it. Everything is cleared and the glass and floor left clean at the end.
Can you letter in our existing style?
Yes. Send your style guide or a photograph of your existing signage and I will letter in a style that sits alongside it rather than fighting it.
